Level 2 Referee Programme
Course Outline
Description: This programme hopes to inspire a group of referees to challenge their thinking and improve their confidence in refereeing games. basketballscotland will provide bespoke to support to each referee through a mixture of technical and tactical (Mechanics & Rules) and development topics (Communication, Feedback, Setbacks etc). Every session will include a coach/referee developer observing and generating some feedback from the live environment. We will also have a topic in place for both coaches and officials on the day, which will allow for some discussion and reflection.
Prerequisites: Candidates must be a minimum of 18 years of age. Level 1 Referee qualification or meet the APL criteria.
Delivery: This is a programme which will be delivered over the basketball season. The on court sessions will take place during basketballscotland’s Regional Academy sessions. Coaches attending will receive:
- E-Learning Modules
- 10 sessions at the Regional Academy
- Referee Developer support
- Portfolio of work
- Modules for continued learning
