In the recent 2024 U18 Home Nations basketball tournament, our Scottish teams showcased remarkable resilience and skill. Our men’s team kicked off their campaign with a hard-fought 79-77 victory over Wales. However, they encountered a formidable challenge in their next game against England, ultimately falling 66-99. In their final match against Ireland, they battled valiantly, trailing by just three points at halftime, but eventually succumbed with a final score of 66-85.
Similarly, our women’s team dominated their opening match against Wales with a convincing 94-45 win. They faced strong opposition from the English team next, enduring a 43-71 defeat. In their last game against Ireland, despite maintaining a close score throughout all four quarters, they narrowly missed a victory, ending at 73-87.
Overall, despite the tough competition, both our Scotland Men’s and Women’s teams demonstrated exceptional determination and talent throughout the tournament. Their efforts culminated in a commendable 3rd place finish for both teams in their respective categories. This achievement not only highlights the promising future of basketball in Scotland but also underscores the dedication of its players and coaching staff.
