This week, the Game of the Week team will be in Edinburgh for some action in the Women’s division as City of Edinburgh Kats play host to Lady Rocks.
City of Edinburgh Kats currently sit atop the Women’s Premier Division with an 8-1 record, with their only loss in the league coming at the hands of 2nd place Lady Rocks in their most recent matchup, which we covered back in November.
Kats will be looking for redemption this week as they face Rocks at home for the first time this season.
“It was a great game of basketball the last time we met. An excellent performance from a talented group of players. I’m looking forward to the return.” Said Edinbugh Kats’ coach, Ben Gunn ahead of the fixture.
We also caught up with Lady Rocks coach, Colin Haldane who had the following to say in the run up to Saturday’s game;
“The season has been going well so far. Five players have played SW basketball for the first time this year and are relishing the challenge. Our experienced players are helping them through the trials and tribulations.”
“Going into the weekend our focus is on executing well and taking our opportunities. We always enjoy playing the Kat’s who have a great respect for the game and their opponents.”
City of Edinburgh Kats will host Lady Rocks at 3.00pm on Saturday 9th December.
