Rising Scottish Basketball Star Aymen Kraria Participates in the NBA’s Basketball Without Borders Europe 2023 Camp
Scotland’s Aymen Kraria will be hoping to share the learnings and experience over the past few days when he returns home. Aymen has had the fantastic opportunity to take part in the 20th edition of the Basketball Without Borders (BWB) Europe camp. This prestigious, invitation-only camp was held in Wroclaw, Poland, from August 25th to 28th. Aymen and the other up-and-coming talents from across Europe received coaching and training from NBA players, coaches, and staff. Additionally, the camp fosters skills in teamwork, leadership, and life beyond basketball.
The opportunity presented itself to Kraria while he was proudly gracing the court for Great Britain U17 Men’s basketball team at the recent FIBA 3×3 event held in Hungary. It was during this tournament that Kraria’s talent caught the keen eyes of scouts, resulting in his invitation to the BWB camp.
Kraria, who demonstrated notable performances during the 2023 Home Nations Tournament with an average of 8 points, 9.3 rebounds, and 7 assists, will hope to follow the footsteps of BWB alumni such as NBA stars Joel Embiid, Jamal Murray, and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.
Upon receiving the news of his selection for the 2023 Basketball Without Borders camp, Kraria expressed his honour and excitement, stating, “It is truly an exceptional opportunity where I will be playing and competing alongside some of the top talents in Europe, as well as receiving guidance from elite coaches across the world.
This type of unique experience continues to motivate me to pursue basketball at the highest level and just extremely thankful to my family, friends, teammates and coaches who are helping me to obtain these opportunities”
Barry Lang, Head of Basketball at basketballscotland, commented: “Aymen works hard at his game, which resulted in a Great Britain call up, last year and earlier in this summer. He performed well for the GB U17M in the FIBA 3×3 event in Hungary, where he was scouted for this amazing NBA camp.”
