Kristine Johnson appointed as the new Vice Chair of the basketballscotland Board
On International Women’s Day, basketballscotland is pleased to announce that Kristine Johnson has been appointed as the new Vice Chair of the Board with immediate effect.
With a love for basketball and a background in Human Resources, Kristine first joined the board in 2017 as the HR Director before being re-elected by the membership for a second term at the 2021 AGM. During her time on the Board, Kristine has worked passionately to help develop basketball in Scotland, putting a concern for people at the heart of what the governing body does, and she is often a familiar face at the officiating table.
Speaking on Kristine’s appointment, basketballscotland’s Chair, Stephen Ferguson, commented: “I’m delighted that Kristine has taken over the role of Vice Chair. Kristine understands where we want to get to as a sport. She has been a key player in establishing our current direction which is based on changing lives through basketball and building meaningful relationships between the governing body and the membership. Kristine’s positive influence within the Board and the wider community is exactly what the role of Vice Chair needs. I greatly look forward to working with her.”
The post of Vice Chair has been vacant since the former Vice Chair, Stephen Ferguson, took over Chair responsibilities.
We look forward to continuing to work with Kristine in her new role as we continue to grow the game in Scotland.
