The 2022 Commonwealth Games set to get underway in just a couple of days. This will be the first time that the 3×3 format has featured at the Commonwealth Games and is also the first time that wheelchair basketball has been included too.
Scotland Women will be competing in Group A, where they will face Australia, Kenya and Sri Lanka. While our Men, who were also drawn into Group A, will be competing against Canada, Kenya and Sri Lanka. Our Women’s Wheelchair team will be competing in Group B, where they will be taking on Australia and South Africa.
As we seen at the qualifiers in Largs earlier this year, the 3×3 format of the game is an exciting, fast paced version of the sport and is sure to excite those watching.
Those who are as excited as we are about watching basketball will not have to wait long as the competition is set to get underway this Friday, July 29th, and will run until Tuesday August 2nd, where the final placing will be determined. Each competition day has two sessions, an afternoon and an evening session.
Coverage of the Games will be on BBC channels throughout the competition.
