COMMONWEALTH GAMES 3×3 BASKETBALL QUALIFIERS – POSTPONED
Due to the upsurge in Omicron in Scotland and across the UK, and with both the Prime Minister and First Minster having recently indicated that they are expecting this to increase, basketballscotland has taken the difficult decision to postpone the 3×3 Commonwealth Games Qualifying event that was due to take place in Glasgow later this month. This decision has been supported by Commonwealth Games Federation, Team Scotland, FIBA, IWBF, sportscotland, British Wheelchair Basketball and GB Basketball.
While this was not an easy decision to make so close to the event, the health and safety of all our players, coaches, officials and spectators is of paramount importance to us. To run our event with all the medical advice, would be avoiding our duty of care, and we are not willing to take that chance. We will look to reschedule when it is safe to do so and will inform when we have a new date.
