basketballscotland is pleased to confirm the first round draws for this year’s Men’s and Women’s Scottish Cup following this afternoon’s live draw on Facebook.
In the only preliminary game in the Women’s draw, St Mirren West College Scotland and last year’s runners up, Lady Rocks, will battle it out for an opportunity to play in the main draw. The winner of that game will go on to face Glasgow Fever.
West Lothian Wolves will face City of Edinburgh in the first round of the Women’s Scottish Cup.
Sony Centre fury will play host to Glasgow University in the opening round with an all-Edinburgh match-up between Polonia Phoenix and Edinburgh University rounding off the 2019 draw.
The Men’s Scottish Cup will see two preliminary games take place with Ayrshire Tornadoes and Perth Phoenix facing off while Pleasance and Portlethen Panthers go head-to-head for a place in the main draw.
In the main draw, the winner of Ayrshire Tornadoes and Perth Phoenix will play Highland Bears.
Last year’s SBC Scottish Cup Winners, City of Edinburgh will take on the winner of Pleasance and Portlethen Panthers.
Glasgow University will be at home to Boroughmuir Blaze. Newly promoted Edinburgh Lions will travel to face St Mirren West College Scotland.
Edinburgh University will play host to Dunfermline Reign in the opening round while West Lothian Wolves travel north to face the Granite City Grizzlies.
Stirling Knights will face Glasgow Storm and Heriot Watt University will take on Sony Centre Fury.
