Four Teen PickUp Basketball sessions launched
basketballscotland has recently launched several PickUp Basketball sessions aimed specifically at young females.
The teen sessions, which are designed for high school aged girls, have launched in Brechin, Stirling, Stonehaven and Dundee, with more to come in the near future. The sessions take place on a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday respectively and last between an hour and ninety minutes.
PickUp Basketball offers fun and affordable pay-as you-play sessions for teenage girls looking to get active through basketball in a non-competitive environment. The sessions are aimed at those who want to have fun, make new friends, and do some exercise. Teen PickUp is for beginners so there is no requirement to know anything about basketball and you can play at your own pace.
Amy Kirkhouse, basketballscotland’s Participation Manager, is delighted to see the new sessions starting:
“It’s fantastic to have four teen PickUp Basketball sessions up and running. We are committed to creating more opportunities for women and girls to get involved with basketball at all levels and we believe that these recreational sessions will be a great way for teenage girls to get involved in the sport in a relaxed and welcoming environment. PickUp is all about having fun, building friendships and keeping active, and we hope that many teenage girls will get to experience this fun environment through PickUp Basketball.”
