It’s just one more day until the four schools travel to the Emirates Arena to compete for the title of 2019 Jr. NBA champion.
Earlier this week basketballscotland covered the success of the programme, as over 300 children have participated in eight weeks of games across Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Inverness. After a successful round of Playoffs last week, the four teams heading to Final Fours were confirmed:
Chicago Bulls Liberton
From the city of Edinburgh, Chicago Bulls Liberton will be looking to retain their crown after the school won the first Jr. NBA championship last year.
Brooklyn Nets Kingford
The highest scoring attackers in their division, Brooklyn Nets Kingford will travel to the Emirates Arena after topping the division and coming out on top against Philadelphia 76ers Abbotswell in an exciting Playoff.
LA Lakers Milton of Leys
LA Lakers Milton of Leys will represent the highlands as they travel to Glasgow from Inverness for a shot at the championship. The team had the best defence in their division and overcame Sacramento Kings Holm in the Playoff.
Memphis Grizzlies OLOP
Arguably the home team for the Final Fours, Memphis Grizzlies will be Glasgow’s school after they topped their division and progressed through the playoff.
Attendance for the event is free, with families and friends encouraged to head along to the Emirates Arena and support the four teams. The day will consist of two Semi-Finals, a Third/Fourth Playoff and the Final. The schedule for the games is detailed below:
