basketballscotland Board Welcomes Returning Member and New Additions

During the Annual General Meeting on Wednesday, 6th November, elections were undertaken for three positions on the basketballscotland Board. We are pleased to announce the re-election of Craig Chambers and the election of Joshua Tackie and Derek Quirk (Finance).

Craig, with his extensive background in commercial development, has previously served 5 years on the basketballscotland board, and has been instrumental in driving growth strategies that benefit the sport at every level in Scotland. We look forward to seeing him continue this impactful work in the coming term.

We are excited to welcome Joshua Tackie, a new addition to the board. Joshua brings over 30 years of coaching experience across the UK, including at the University of Glasgow and Glasgow Rens Basketball Club, where he now serves as chair. A former professional player, Joshua has coached in some of the UK’s most diverse communities, championing inclusion in all aspects of the sport.

In addition to these appointments, we are pleased to welcome Derek Quirk as the new Finance Director. Derek brings robust financial expertise that will be crucial as we manage resources to support the growth of basketball in Scotland.

Congratulations to Craig, Joshua, and Derek on their successful appointments, and thank you to our community for its continued support in strengthening basketball across Scotland.

We would also like to extend our sincere gratitude to Doug Folan for his years of service and dedication to basketballscotland. Doug has played a key role in developing our performance programmes and supporting our athletes and coaches. His contributions have had a lasting impact, and we thank him for his commitment to the sport.
