South Aberdeenshire-based Panthers Basketball Club are hosting a 3×3 Summer League throughout the summer as the latest basketball format continues to grow in popularity across the globe.
It’s been a busy summer for 3×3, with USA and China winning the Men’s and Women’s FIBA 3×3 World Cups in the last month. A host of FIBA Youth level tournaments will be taking place over the coming months.
In Scotland, basketballscotland recently held ‘We Play’, a 3×3 tournament for U15s which was supported by GB Basketball and FIBA’s Youth Development Fund.
Panthers BC are looking to build on 3×3’s popularity with various summer leagues taking place at Portleven Academy throughout the summer months. U14s, U16-U18 and Seniors will have leagues taking place on Fridays, Tuesdays and Sundays with entry just £2/£3.
Panthers’ club Champion, Jackie Bruce, is looking forward to seeing the local community get involved in 3×3:
“Panthers are very much looking forward to a summer of 3v3 basketball competitions. We have age groups at U12/14/16/18 and seniors (male and female). This is a great opportunity for our members and local basketball community to come together and play this exciting and fast version of our sport. We hope that lots of players will take up this great opportunity.”
