Following a successful summit last year, basketballscotland are asking coaches to #RiseNow as the event returns for a second year on August 24th.
The 2018 summit saw a host of speakers – including Scotland’s Commonwealth Games Head Coach Rob Beveridge – provide insight into a host of topics including developing Scottish talent, physical preparation and recovery, building a winning culture and reviewing lessons learned from the European Championships.
Barry Lang, Head of Basketball, commented:
“2018 was huge for Scottish Basketball. Caledonia Pride got to the WBBL Cup Finals in Birmingham and our Senior Men National Team finished fourth at the Commonwealth Games in Australia. We were able to build on these achievements by hosting an awesome coaching summit, where our Youth National Team Coaching Staff were able to highlight their experiences at European Championships, alongside two of our Senior National Team Players describing their basketball journeys. Having our Commonwealth Games Coaching & Support Staff provide insights into their performance environments was both educational and inspiring.”
With the location, speakers, seminars and ticket details set to be confirmed in the coming weeks, coaches across Scotland are encouraged to save the date ahead of what promises to be a valuable and insightful day.
