St. Mirren coach, Chris Cleary had the following to say in the lead up to Friday’s game;
This week’s game will be a tough one as St Andrews look to have their squad together now after the student summer break. After the long trip to the East, the ladies will need to be ready to play! The last couple of games have been good wins but team performances haven’t been the best. I hope we can get back to playing great basketball, the way they know they can.
The home team, St. Andrews come into Friday’s fixture currently second in Division 1with a 2-1 record. So far in the league, St. Andrews has beaten West Lothian Wolves and Polonia Phoenix but fell at the hands of Glasgow Fever earlier in the season. Glasgow Fever was also responsible for knocking St. Andrews out of the Scottish Cup.
St. Andrews coach, Callum Knox had the following to say in the run up to Friday’s game;
After a solid win Away against Polonia, I feel we are beginning to become a more cohesive unit on the court and we are sticking to our principles. We know the St Mirren have started the year well but we are ready for the challenge. They have some good guards and we will be looking for a big team effort in order to limit their productivity.
St. Andrews will host St. Mirren on Friday at 8.20pm. If you’re at the game, let us know by tweeting us @basketballscot and using #SBCGotW.
