Several Scottish referees will be heading across Europe this Summer to represent GB as officials at numerous FIBA events.
On the back of successfully taking charge of the BBL Playoff Final, Chris Dodds will be heading to Latvia and Serbia to officiate at the FIBA Women’s EuroBasket in July.
Iain Macdonald has been appointed to FIBA Men’s U18 European Championships in Greece this July. After that, Iain travels to Montenegro FIBA Men’s U16 European Championships Division B, which takes place in August.
Mariann Dodds-Miklosik will travel to two events in July. Firstly the FIBA Women’s U16 European Championships division C in Moldova, followed by the FIBA Women’s U18 European Championships Division C in Andorra.
Lastly, Commissioner Robert Bald will be travelling to Skopje, Macedonia for the U16 Women’s Championship in August.
Basketballscotland’s Competitions & Officiating Manager, Graham Shaw, is delighted to see so many Scottish Officials amongst the FIBA ranks:
“It is brilliant to see Chris, Iain, Mariann and Robert all representing Scotland once again at these high level European events. It’s a testament to all their hard work and it serves as inspiration for all of the younger referees across Scotland – both male and female – who are beginning their officiating careers.”
Updates on the events will be provided across basketballscotland channels during the Summer.
