With the start of the 2023/24 season just around the corner, basketballscotland are excited to start accepting applications from schools to get involved in the Scottish Schools Cup.
The 2023/24 competition will feature six leagues: S1 Girls, S1 Boys, U15 Girls, U15 Boys, Open Girls and Open Boys. The top schools in each of the age categories will then go on to play in a showcase Scottish Final Four event at the end of March. There is an expectation of travel to fulfil fixtures during the season.
The aim for this season is to increase regional school basketball in the hope that more schools are able to participate and help grow the game.
In order to help with the competition, basketballscotland’s Regional Leads (North, West, East and Central) will support the schools and coordinate the number of games being played within their region.
For the upcoming 2023/24 season, each participating team will be required to pay an entry fee of £10. In cases where a school registers three teams, the total entry fee will amount to £30. Following the conclusion of the entry period, schools will receive an invoice for the applicable fees. It’s important to note that the collected entry fees will be reinvested into the programme to enhance the overall experience for all players across all the regions.
