The draw for the 2019/20 SBC Scottish Cup took place at basketballscotland’s Head Office on Friday as preparations for the new season continue.

With the Senior Men’s and Senior Women’s draws made live online, 26 teams were drawn from the hat as their Cup fixtures were confirmed.

In the Women’s draw, four teams were selected to play a prelim round before progressing to the quarter-finals. In the Men’s draw, teams all begin in the round of 16. From there the teams will progress to the finals in a bracket format.

Last year’s winning teams, Sony Centre Fury and City of Edinburgh Kats, will start their quest to retain their trophies against Boroughmuir Blaze and Perth Phoenix respectively.

Speaking at the draw, basketballscotland’s Competitions and Officiating Manager Graham Shaw:

“There’s a number of very exciting ties been drawn this morning and I am looking forward to the games getting underway as the 2019/20 season edges closer. There’s a few new teams entering this year and we have also had some tough ties for some of the top teams in Division One.
