basketballscotland & Sony Centre Falkirk will be hosting a 3v3 competition at Oriam on Saturday 22nd June.

Open to all Under 15s, the event will see 48 youngsters compete across the day, with the girls tournament taking place from 9:30-12:45 and the boys competing from 1-4pm.

3v3 is a simple and energetic game in which six players compete on a half-court. Growing in popularity at a rapid rate, the game last 10 minutes, with a 12-second shot-clock and no quarters or half-time. If a team reaches a score of 21 inside the 10 minutes, they win.

Kieran Lynch, East Regional Development Officer at basketballscotland is looking forward to hosting the event:

“It’s a great way to bring kids together to compete in 3v3. It’s a growing sport that will be represented at the next Olympics and Commonwealth games. It’s a really easy game to play and we’re excited to be introducing it to more young players in Scotland.

Tickets for the event, which are first come first served, are priced at £2 and available to purchase here.
