The second game of the Scottish Cup Finals weekend saw hometown team Edinburgh Kool Kats take on Lady Rocks for the Under 18 Women’s Cup. Kats were tested in an impressive Final but were able to come away 52-62 victors, securing City of Edinburgh their second Cup of the weekend.

Pollyanna Storie showed her strong perimeter shooting pulling up early in the shot clock midway through the second period to extend the lead 22-13. Maela Faleu decided to take her defender for a spin and a dance as she showed some flashy skilled handles to get to the basket repeatedly showing weakness’ in Edinburgh’s defence. Strong defence from the Kats, they clawed a 9 point half time lead 33-24.

Rocks picked up the pace to repeatedly beat Kats on the fastbreak. Their group of quick guards proving too much for the height of Edinburgh as they closed the gap only for Celina Eisenhardt to beat the buzzer and resume Kool Kats’ lead at the end of the 3rd, 46-43. Onto the final quarter, Storie continued her strong play this time dominating the post as she used her height advantage to beat her defender twice, once with an and-one, boosting the lead by 5.
Strong FT shooting from the Kats kept their lead strong as City of Edinburgh Kool Kats were crowned victors of the Under 18 Women Scottish cup, defeating Lady Rocks 62-52.

Polyanna Stories was named Molten Sports MVP, finishing the game with 16 points and 14 rebounds.
