Intro

Perth Phoenix host St Mirren on Sunday in the latest round of SBC action.

The home side currently sit second in the table, with the visitors three places behind them in fifth.

The teams

Perth have picked up three consecutive victories after their opening day defeat to Lady Rocks. Wins against Glasgow City, West Lothian Wolves and Sony Centre Fury have see the side sit just two points off table-topping Sony Centre Fury, although they have played a game less.

St Mirren picked up their first win of 19/20 against Inverness City after starting their campaign with back-to-back losses vs Lady Rocks and Sony Centre Fury.

From the Coaches

St Mirren’s Head Coach, Leanne Renfrew, is hoping her team can hit the ground running after a few weeks off:
“The girls have had a few weeks without a game so are eager to get back to it and have been working hard at training. It was a tough match up last season with Perth so I’m sure it will be a great game.”

Phoenix’s Russel Kesson is aware of the threat that St Mirren will pose to his team:

“We are looking forward to the game on Sunday and are expecting a tough game. St. Mirren have a very successful history within women’s basketball and we will need to perform to our highest level to stand an opportunity of success in the game. They are always well organised and we are expecting a high tempo, fast paced game which will hopefully be exciting for both sets of supporters to watch.”
