This week, the Game of the Week team will be traveling to Glasgow to watch the Lady Rocks play host to City of Edinburgh Kats in a top of the table clash!

The visitors this week, City of Edinburgh Kats currently sit at the top of the Women’s Premier division having one 6 out of 6 games in the league, most recently defeating St. Andrews university in an 81-45 blowout. Despite a tough loss in the Scottish cup where they were knocked by St. Mirren, the Kats have been arguably one of the strongest sides in the league so far.

Speaking with Kats head coach, Ben Gunn before the game, he had the following to say about Friday’s fixture;

“We know that Friday evening will be our toughest test of the season so far, with Rocks the only other team with an undefeated record.  We are aware of their key players and what we will have to guard against.  We will have to stick to our game plan and execute at both ends of the floor on Friday.”

The home side, Lady Rocks also come into Friday’s game sitting second in the league to the Kats, with an unbeaten record in the league as well as in the Cup, most recently knocking out Polonia in a 111-41 win at home.

“The season has gone well this year. The team is a mix of experience and players who are playing their first season at Senior Women,” said Lady Rocks coach, Colin Haldane. “Focus is the same for every game – defence. I’ll be happy if we play to our potential.”

It will be all to play for this Friday as only one team will leave with their unbeaten record intact!

Lady Rocks will host City of Edinburgh Kats at 8.20pm on Friday 10th November at St. Maurice’s High School.
