Tonight, reigning Playoff Champions, City of Edinburgh play host to this week’s SBC Game of the Week as Sony Centre Fury make the journey to Portobello High School for an 8pm tip-off.

Coming into the game, both teams sit tied on 6 points in the League. However, Kings have been having a royally good season so far, playing 3 and walking away with the win each time. Coming out on top over Stirling, Edinburgh Uni and Edinburgh Lions, they have been tested each time and have managed to claim the game.

Fury however, have played an extra game but only mustered 2 wins out of 4. Unable to claim victory over Dunfermline Reign and Boroughmuir Blaze in a pair of tightly contested games that went to the wire.

Having taken a break from League action last week, both teams were competing in the SBC Cup. The Kings and Fury both took crushing victories over Panthers and Heriot Watt respectively.

We caught up with Kings head coach, Craig Nicol ahead of the game:

“Really looking forward to tonight’s game and excited to see our younger players compete at this level. It should be a very good test for them. We have had good preparation this week and will be ready to go tonight.”

The Kings will be boasting a youthful look, which has been successful so far in their season as they are undefeated. Fury, however, will be sticking with their seasoned squad, adding one or two youth products to compliment the stalwarts of Falkirk. New signing Boris Matrikov will be looking to put up big numbers as he has been unable to really get his season off to a start, sitting out against Reign in the league.

Tip tonight is set for 20:00 at Portobello High School, a packed crowd for sure, make sure you let us know who you’re supporting using #SBCGotW!
