Glasgow Schools Basketball will later today play host to a School’s All Star Game to commemorate Donald Macleod and Michael McGowan who sadly passed away during the 2018 season.

Donald was a dedicated and inspirational coach at Lourdes Secondary School for over 12 year achieving many schools titles and introducing 100’s of boys to basketball both at school and club levels.

Michael was a former pupil of Lourdes Secondary who represented both the school, Twilight, Rens and Glasgow Storm. His passion and commitment to basketball made him a great role model and ambassador to the school.

Their passing was a great loss to the basketball community and Glasgow School’s Basketball want to mark the importance of what they brought to School’s Basketball with an School’s All Star Game.

The All Star Team will be made up of current S6 players and the Select Team are current S6 and former players who played for Donald and alongside Michael at Lourdes Secondary.

We will be holding a raffle to raise some money for a charity of the families choice. There will also be some half time challenges and skills challenge. Recently back from the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Australia, Kieron Achara will also be popping along to support the event.
