The Scotland U16 Women’s National Squad has today been announced ahead of the Copenhagen Invitational Tournament later this month.

The tournament, which takes place between the 20th and 23rd of June, is an opportunity for the players to gain valuable experience at an international event ahead of the FIBA European Championships in July.

Donnie MacDonald has named his 12-player squad for the tournament, who will all be flying to Denmark on June 19th. Seven Scottish clubs, plus Spain’s Uni Ginora, will be represented by their players at the event.

Donnie believes his squad has a good mixture of youth and experience as they head into the warm up event:

“We have 7 players in this group who were part of the team that reached the final of Euro C last year, so it will be great to build upon that experience when we go to Copenhagen later in the month. We also have some exciting new players coming into the team for whom the tournament will be a great learning experience.”
