Scottish Duo Owen Mackle and Louis Sullivan have been selected to represent GB U18 Men at the 2019 FIBA 3×3 U18 Europe Cup qualifiers.

Mackle, who plays for City of Edinburgh Kings, was the 2019 SBC Scottish Cup Final MVP as he led the team to victory over St Mirren. Sullivan, who plays for Myerscough Academy after coming through the ranks at Stirling Knights, was part of the 2018 Scotland U16 squad.

The duo will be led by Scotland’s Commonwealth Games star and current GB Men’s player, Gareth Murray, at the event which is set to be held in Rieti, Italy on August 3 and 4.

Looking ahead to the tournament, Murray believes the event will be an opportunity for the players to push on in their careers:

“The four young players that are representing GB at the 3×3 will have the opportunity to showcase their talent versus some of the best players in Europe. I hope this experience will help them with their future aspirations and fulfil their respective goals.”

“All players wish to raise their profile and continue improving to take their game to another level. Opportunities like this are perfect for gaining experience and opening their eyes to the level of talent around the world.”
