basketballscotland would like to congratulate the 11 Scottish officials who were named to officiate at the WBBL and BBL Trophy Finals in Glasgow on Sunday 26th March.

Scotland had eight officials on the table across both Finals. Maisie James (Asst. Scorer), Milana Plecas (Shot Clock), Chris Hope (Stats – Inputter) and Aiden Gallagher (Stats – Asst. Spotter) all represented at the WBBL Final. Later in the afternoon Louise Moyes (Asst. Scorer), Gillian McKay (Timer), Fraser Muir (Stats – Inputter) and Toni Carvill (Stats – Asst. Spotter) took over for the BBL final.

FIBA referee Chris Dodds also took to the court to officiate the BBL Trophy Final which saw our very own Caledonia Gladiators win their first piece of silverware in two decades!

Nick Nassi and Iain MacDonald were both on standby to officiate in the WBBL and BBL games respectively, should they have been required.

Kevin Pringle, CEO of basketballscotland, was delighted to see so many officials be selected for the finals:

“To have so many Scottish officials at the BBL and WBBL trophy Final is a testament to their hard work and dedication to the game all year round, and we are thrilled to see them be recognised for it. It is also fantastic opportunity for the younger generation of referees and table officials to be able to have so many role models to look up to as they embark or continue their officiating journey. Congratulations to all those who were involved in the Finals.”

basketballscotland would like to thank all our officials for their continuous hard work and dedication to the game. The roles you play within our sport are instrumental. As always, you are the reason games happen.
