Scottish Schools Cup 2024/25: Applications Now Open!

As the 2024/25 season approaches, basketballscotland is excited to announce that applications are now open for schools to participate in this year’s Scottish Schools Cup.

This year’s competition will feature six leagues: S1 Girls, S1 Boys, U15 Girls, U15 Boys, Open Girls, and Open Boys. However, there have been some changes to the format this season.

The competition will continue to include a regional element, promoting more matches with reduced travel. New for this year, we’ve introduced quarter-finals and semi-finals ahead of the SSC Final event. The top two teams from each region will advance, ensuring the top teams from across the country compete for a place in the finals.

The SSC Final will be a one-day event, where finalists from all age groups will compete on the same day. This will take place in early March, avoiding the busy school schedules around the Easter holidays.

Key Changes to the Rules:

  • Players are now allowed to participate in more than one competition. For example, a player in the U15 competition can also compete in the Open competition, provided they meet the age requirements for both.
  • A minimum of eight players in the U15 or Open competitions must not be competing in any younger age categories.
