Venue and dates confirmed for 2020 SBC Scottish Cup Finals

The venue, dates and schedule of the 2020 SBC Scottish Cup Finals has today been confirmed following on from last weekend’s Semi-Finals.

The Finals are set to take place at Lagoon Leisure centre in Paisley on Saturday February 1st and Sunday February 2nd next year. This is the first basketballscotland Finals to be held in Paisley since the 2016 Cup Finals.

Seven of the eight participating teams have booked their places in the Finals, with City of Edinburgh facing Lady Rocks this weekend in the second U16 Women’s Semi-Final. Six SBC clubs – St Mirren, Grampian Flyers, Sony Centre Fury, Boroughmuir Blaze, Lady Rocks and City of Edinburgh – will be represented over the two days of action.

Day one will see the U16 Men’s, U18 Women’s and Senior Men’s Finals, with the SBC Wheelchair All-Star game also taking place in the afternoon. The U16 Women, U18 Men and Senior Women will all compete on day two.

Graham Shaw, basketballscotland’s Competitions & Officiating Manager, is looking forward to the Finals:

“We are delighted to be back in Paisley hosting the SBC Scottish Cup Finals at Lagoon for a fourth time. It’s a fantastic venue which never fails to produce an electric atmosphere and we’re looking forward to more of the same come February.

The Cup has produced a number of action-packed, nail-biting games already this season and with several top teams competing over the weekend. We expect some very close and exciting games. The Cup Finals also mark the start of an exciting few months of basketball in Scotland as the SBC Leagues conclude and the Playoffs begin.”
