Women & Girls Strategy

As part of our continued commitment to growing basketball for women and girls, and as we look to launch our new Women & Girls Strategy, we would like to utilise this current period of time without basketball to host some online conversations discussing the strategy and hearing from clubs and members about their experiences to better inform it.

Initially there will be three conversations to discuss three different topics that form the basis of the strategy, although we may do more topics if it seems necessary.

Dates, times and topics are below:

Wednesday 27th May @ 19:30 – Getting More Women And Girls Into The Game.

Tuesday 2nd June @ 19:30 – Keeping Women And Girls In The Game.

Monday 8th June @ 19:30 – Growing The Presence And Influence Of Women And Girls In The Game.

The purpose of these conversations is to share information on the strategy with clubs, to learn from the successes and challenges clubs have faced in these areas, and to encourage sharing of ideas within the Scottish basketball community. These conversations will take place online via Zoom and we will likely utilise breakout rooms to allow for more in-depth discussion and knowledge sharing in smaller groups.

All are welcome to join the conversation but if you have club leaders or members who are particularly invested already in the female game or passionate about growing it, then it would be great to have them join. If you would like to join any, or all, of these discussions, please email amy.kirkhouse@basketball-scotland.com with your name and club, and you will be sent a link to join the call along with the strategy document.
