basketballscotland U16 National Academy Head Coaches, Eoghann Dover and John Kerray, have named their final rosters ahead of this weekend’s Tri-Nations tournament in Manchester.

The teams, alongside two U18 teams, are travelling to the National Basketball Performance Centre on Friday to compete against England and Wales over the weekend. The tournament is the first international action of 19/20, with a tournament in Copenhagen and FIBA U16 Europe to follow in the summer of 2020.

U16 Women

Scotland U16 Women’s tournament begins v England Red at 11am on Saturday. The team will then play two games on the Sunday, facing Wales at 9am before concluding the tournament v England White at 3pm.

Eight Scottish clubs will be represented within the squad competing over the weekend. Sally Campbell and Eve Macdougall both play domestically with West Lothian Wolves, whilst Eilidh Davies and Anya Morrison are teammates at Perth Phoenix.

Dayna Thomson and Leah Tervit Stark are both members at Lady Rocks with Aoife Loftus and Sofia Amis are based in the capital with City of Edinburgh.

Niamh Rana, who featured for Scotland U16s at last summer’s FIBA U16 Europe, joins the squad from Glasgow City, with Kerry McGhee representing another Glasgow-based side, Glasgow Fever.

Eilidh Noble and Emily Melrose complete the 12, playing their club basketball at Attack Basketball Academy and Falkirk Fury respectively.

U16 Men

Scotland U16 Men begin their tournament at 9am on Saturday as they tip off v England White. Wales await in the afternoon, the game beginning at 1pm, before Sunday’s 11am start v England Red completes their schedule for the weekend.

Seven Scottish clubs are represented in the Men’s squad, including three players – Bailey Leitch, Saachin Chandran, Leo Harland Sendra – from Boroughmuir Blaze. City of Edinburgh Kings have two players in the final roster, Jude Vanneste and Fraser Tuffy.

Ross Grant and Jack Stratton will travel to Manchester from Grampian Flyers, with Inverness City Lions also having two representatives – Theo Pilkington and Luke Seago.

Euan Birch, who has featured for St Mirren’s Senior Men this season, is also in the squad, with Stirling Knights’ Piper McGowan and Falkirk Fury’s George Henderson completing the twelve.
